Suggest Treatment For Diabetic Proliferative Retinopathy
My mother is having a diabetic Proliferative Retinopathy. We did the laser treatment twice 2 months back. But now she is complaining that her eye vision is being reduced day by day. The doctors have earlier told us thta the blood vessel which supplies blood to the eyesight is severly damaged. What is the option. What should we do now to save the eyesight
The problem is that there is no real treatment for diabetic retinopathy specially when the vision is reducing.
Sure there are lots of experimental therapies. But then they are just that. Experimental. If you like, you can try to visit a centre where one of these therapies are being tried. But as I said the therapies are experimental.
Once the laser treatment fails we are really out of options except to try again.
If you are willing to try a experimental therapy, let me know and we can discuss the options available.
Think about it. I will be happy to help you in this respect. Sorry to be of limited help Best regards, Dr Mittal.
