Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Tired I have been extremely tired lately and I've tried everything. I've taken over the counter sleep medicine, melatonin, herbal teas nothing helps me fall asleep or stay asleep and no matter how long I do sleep I still feel exhausted. I am suffering from some depression but I'm concerned it's more. I also experience some nausea after eating and have several headaches a week. I'm not pregnant...I'm wondering if I should go see a doctor.
People who are depressed undergo a series of physical and emotional changes. They can experience fatigue, as well as psychomotor retardation, or a slowing down of physical movements, speech, and thought processes. Sleep problems—such as insomnia, waking up very early in the morning, or excessive sleeping—are common depression symptoms. Some people sleep 12 hours a day and still feel exhausted or toss and turn and wake up in every two hours. My suggestion to you will be that you should try to indulge yourself in some pleasurable activities of your choice which make you happy. Go out with friends, watch movies, start having some hobbies, start keeping pets if you like, listen to music or watch TV shows that cheer you up. Try doing these things by yourself and you will see a change. But if no change occurs in 2 weeks that I suggest you to consult a doctor. All the best. God bless.
