Suggest Treatment For Flatulence

I suffer from severe stomach wind, stomach pain and a feeling of unwellness most days but particularly at night. I am a 52 year old woman of average health and I have a pretty good diet overall but have failed in narrowing down which food it is that makes it worse. However, I do try to stay away from bread, pasta and dried fruits, I don't drink very much alcohol and only moderately drink tea or coffee in the mornings. Some evenings the acute wind and stomach pain is so bad that it stops me from sleeping. I take 'Gas' over-the-counter drugs and this does ease the wind somewhat, however, the wind has on occassion caused me to expell some clear liquid from my rear end which causes me worry and embarassement. Could it be IBS?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from excess intestinal gas formation that is leading to excess formation of intestinal gas as well as there can be abdominal discomfort, bloating and pain..
It can occur due to number of causes like Intake of certain foods,Eating too fast that can entrap excess of air,Lactose intolerance, excess intake of dairy,Diseases like Crohn's Disease,Bacterial infection in intestines,Constipation,Frequent chewing of chewing gums and sucking candies,Excess intake of dairy etc..
As it is a chronic cause you need to consult a Gastroenterologist and get a thorough evaluation done and he can advise you investigations like Endoscopy, blood tests, stool culture etc to confirm the diagnosis and treatment of the cause can resolve the problem..
-As you are doing regular workouts it is a good practice..
-You should also take walk after meals..
-You should take small portions of food every 2 hours.
-Avoid heavy and large fatty meals..
-You should also limit intake of frizzy drinks, smoking and excess chewing gums..
