I am a rugby player and had a game yesterday. I got hit pretty hard and still have a headache 24 hours later. I do not have the other concussion symptoms dizziness, lack of memory .... What should I do? I have taken Advil and that did not help also I have drinken a lot of water too.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more because of the head injury. Advil is having ibuprofen. It is only painkiller. Instead of advil only you should take combination of painkiller and muscle relaxant drug. Apply ice packs on affected part of head. Don't do sudden jerky movements of head. Sit and sleep with proper head support. Don't drink excess water. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 2-3 days. If not improving then consult doctor and get done CT scan of brain to rule out internal brain injury. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
