Hello,
You have radiographic signs of degenerative arthritic disease of the cervical column and though can certainly result in what would fall possibly into a category of a
CERVICALGIA (
neck pain) that could radiate up and trigger headaches, there are also other things to consider with morning headaches.
A headache specialist may distinguish these architectural findings as to the CAUSE of your headache against other possibilities for MORNING HEADACHES such as a mild or slow
cerebrospinal fluid leak that could give similar symptoms.
The absence of MRI evidence of CORD COMPRESSION does not imply that nerve fibers are not somehow being affected since the spinal fluid space can be seen to be CONTRACTED on the MRI which means things are more CROWDED in an already rather small space.
The best treatment for such a condition is
PHYSICAL THERAPY and exercises to strengthen neck muscles in order to mitigate collapsing force of the
spinal canal as well as appropriate analgesic support that is not OVERUSED so as not to cause
medication overuse headache.
Also, thermal modalities such as heat, ice, and even
ACUPUNCTURE may be helpful other measures.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dariush Saghafi, Neurologist
