Age 31 female 5"10 80kg healthy (usually)Headache started Saturday night, then fever and sleepless night. Paracetomol not good enough, so added in Ibuprofen despite breastfeeding as was unable to function. My sore throat from 3 weeks ago was back. Sunday headache changed from splitting to fuzzy. Tried to vomit, and had one bought of diarrhoea. Felt weak and stayed in bed all day. Today head fuzzy, and still not right but slightly better I would say. Is there any chance it could be meningitis and I should be seeing someone? If I felt as bad as Yesterday I wouldn't ask I would be at docs! Read some menigitis horror stories :-o
While I think you should see a doctor I wouldn't rush to think about meningitis. While your symptoms can be present in meningitis they are not specific at all and can be found in many other infections, could be just influenza. I see no reason to think about meningitis as a first diagnosis, if anything the fact that you are thinking clearly enough to ask questions here would point against it as meningitis usually affects your brain's higher functioning.
