General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. It can be due to internal haemorrhoids . But continuous dark red blood is there there it can be from upper digestive tract. Initially a rectal examination should be done by a general surgeon to rule out hemorrhoids. If that is not there then other conditions like ulcers should be ruled out. Colonoscopy will be needed in some case. In case of haemorrhoids you should take more water and high fibre diet like raw vegetables or fruits. Lactulose at bed time also will be helpful. Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further queries.
