Suggest Treatment For Itchy,swollen Mole

I have had moles on my back for my whole life, but suddenly, today, one of them is itchy and swollen. As the day has progressed, it has become even more swollen. I have a dermatologist appointment in a week, but I'm concerned that I might need to seek treatment sooner. The entire area around the mole is now hard, and the mole itself feels like a fluid filled blister. Is a week too long to wait to get this looked at?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems like there is infection in the follicle under the mole and there seems to be formation of an abscess secondary to infection..
I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can advise you antibiotics , anti-inflammatory medicines along with topical application of antiseptic creams..

In case if the swelling is large and there is pus inside an Incision and drainage can be established inorder to make the infection heal faster..
As of now you can apply a combination of an antibiotic ointment and a steroid ointment for relief from infection..
