Hi, I woke up about an hour ago with a pain in the left part of my chest and it hurt to breathe, I wasn't physically hurt recently. I looked online and Precordial Catch Syndrome seemed like what it was, I'm worried because the pain has not gone away and both my wrists and arms were in pain. I'm 17 and I'm overweight(270-280) Is it possible for me to have a heart attack in my sleep or something? And should I go see a Doctor?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Possibility of heart attack is very very less but since you are obese, we should definitely rule out heart diseases. So get done ecg and 2d echo. If both these are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases. Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely. So better to apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest. Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen. Avoid movements causing pain. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
