Suggest Treatment For Pain And Shrinkage In Testicle

Hi,A couple of months ago my left testicle tripled in size, and was causing a lot of pain, so much so I could hardly walk (the pain travelled up on the left side almost to my stomach). I went to my local E.R and had some blood tests and they just said it looks like a little water infection, and gave me 3 different tablets. 've had an ultrasound scan (I think it was ultrasound), and they don't have any answers for me.Now - my left testicle has shrunk to about half of its original size (before the swelling), and I sometimes get a sharp shooting pain there. Any advice is really really truely appreciated. Thanks Christopher

Hi Christopher.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.

It was a torsion of testis. So the great pain, tripled swelling. In your case the torsion ( rotation along the axis of spermatic cord) was sufficient enough that he veins got occluded and so the engorgement and all .. . Now after the healing occurs , the testis gets shrunken due to ''fibrosis'' and the pain is due to entrapment of the nerve endings so the pain.

Go for Ultrasonography WITH color Doppler study... this will show / confirm what I have explained. Also go for semen analysis and consult an Urologist.
ID he feels so - he may advise you orchidectomy. Please discuss in detail and then only take the decision.
