I have pain in the front of my right thigh, with almost a radiating, precramping sort of sensation, and when I climb stairs, even a couple steps, the pain is sharp in the front of my thigh and also in the right buttock. I have trouble turning over in bed and wake up in the night with my right leg aching. I can't sit too long either, without my foot, leg, even arms aching, but not always the same spot. My doctor told me to stop washing the floors on my hands and knees, however that has not made any difference. Now my doctor has sent me for bloodwork to check for arthritis. I really don't think the sharp thigh and buttock pain is an arthritis pain. Should I ask my doctor for some other kind of test or x-ray? I can't walk or exercise as much as I could before and I'm gaining weight. My son is a personal trainer and he had me stand up, put my hands on the wall and raise my right leg back; it caused the exact same pain in my buttock and front thigh. I'm a 51 year old female, pretty good health otherwise, and just started hormone treatment for menopause.
