Suggest Treatment For Pimple Grown On Mole

Can acne grow in a mole? I have/had a very small mole (more like a dark freckle) on my chin that has been there as long as I can remember. It has never changed, but I think I developed a pimple inside the mole. Yesterday I was picking at it (bad I know) and the entire thing peeled off and bled. It does seem to be healing nicely, but I was wondering if this is could be normal or if it should be examined by a doctor. Should I wait and see how it heals first or make an appointment right away?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pimple grown on mole and filled with blood and pus which is because of sebaceous gland under the hair follicle , when sebum get accumulated in clogged duct of sebaceous gland along with dead skin and bacteria they produce acne. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash you face 2-3 times a day with mild soap and warm water to prevent the accumulation of oil ,dust and bacteria on your face. Avoid greasy creams ,use water based products. Don't pick or touch acne. Apply vitamin E oil at night. Apply kojic acid cream on face. If acne still persists consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe ointments containing benzyol peroxide,azelaic acid or retinoids. You can go for laser therapy as well.
