Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hurt my left lower ribs 8 weeks ago, told it was a rib frature (2 ribs) but it still hurts just as bad as it did one week after injury. Should they do something else? I am wearing a rib brace and taking ibuprofen once or twice a day. No cough or fever. But still really hurts with movement
I have studied your case with diligence. Rib injury may take 6 months to heal completely. In case of blunt heavy trauma you may need to do MRI or HRCT to see details of injury . I will advise to consult to orthopaedic surgeon.
You may consult physiotherapist for pain management. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case. You may need to take rest for early healing.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. If you find this answer helpful do not forget to give rating at end of discussion.
Wishing you good health.
Take care Regards Dr Vaibhav
