Hello! I am from Hyderabad and my age is 21. I have severe acne problem. I have pimples on my chin and mostly on forehead. I don't know the reason for many pimples on my forehead. I checked for dandruff but I am dandruff free. I do head bath daily with an anti dandruff shampoo. I have this problem since 5 year and some marks are being formed on my face. I fear that I would damage my face badly. Kindly let me know the tips and the medication so that I would be out of this problem.
Acne/ pimples are caused due to a combination of 4 factors: 1. Increased production of sebum from sebaceous glands in the skin 2. Increase proliferation of cells & blockage of these glands 3. Inflammation. 4. Bacterial infection.
The treatment depends on the severity. Usually we recommend a combination of treatment with topical retinoids at night and application of benzoyl peroxide gel on the pimples in the morning. If the severity is more, antibiotics like Clindamycin or Doxycycline are recommended.
Also avoid oily foods, drink lots of water & clean your face with an oil free cleanser three times a day for reduction of pimples.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
