I am 36 years old and have never had a pimple problem until now. I have only ever had one pimple a month - always timed with my menstruation cycle - and even those have only ever been small and in roughly the same place (chin area). While the pimples I am getting these days could in no way be considered acne, they are large and sore, and popping up all over the place...even got one on my neck the other day. I am not too worried about it, but I am curious to know whether it is likely caused by hormonal changes? Cheers

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Aditi Garg's Response
dear, acne can be caused by hormonal changes, stress or may be due to acidity. if I would have been at your place, i would start topical clindamycin & start having bland diet. they will subside for sure.
