Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have chronic back pain and take 8mg of jurnista daily. I was also taking slow release tremal 200mg twice a day and digesics when pain got bad. My doctor has taken me off digesics and prescribed 50mg tremadol to be taken when reuired but im not sure if i can do this while on slow release tremal so i've just started the 50 mg tremal and ceased the slow release 200mg. I'm confused should i be still on the slow release as well the label stated no more then 400 mg a day. My backpain has been bearable but my hands are burnung with pain. Should i go back to my doctor.
I have gone through the details provided by you. If your pain is less, you need not keep taking the mentioned medicines. You can skip doses or take them in less quantity if the pain is bearable. But I would not insist you to self medicate. You should definitely go back to your doctor and discuss the current situation. The burning pain in your hands could be due to some neuropathic condition or due to nerve compression which could be the same as the cause of your back pain. Your doctor has to examine and evaluate you and treat you accordingly. Hot compress alternating with cold compress should also help in reducing the pain.
