Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Prednisone

Hi. My mom takes prednisone and I believe that she may be having side effects or allergic reaction. She is sweating, but she feels cold to the touch. Her heart is racing, she has diarrhea and her arthritis is kicking in bad. Her arms are locking up on her. I looked up side effects to see if this is normal. But I m not sure if I should take her into the emergency room or not. Please help!

Welcome to HCM. I am sorry to hear about your mother. I will try to help you out as much as I can.
I do not know te full medical history of your mother and as reviewing the past medical history is vital in this case, I would recommend that you take her to the ER.
Long term prednisone use can have a lot of side effects like thinning of extremities, skin changes, central obesity, change in bowel habits and many others but prednisone use is not known to cause arthritis.
I would recommend taking her to the ER so that they can do a physical examination and appropriate investigations.
