Suggest Treatment For Skin Rash Caused By Nymph Dog Tick

Small nymph dog tick bit me on the scrotum 2days ago. Swelling, itchy kinda red, started 24 hours after bite. Today swelling is bigger with slight grape sized mass between testicles. No ring rash etc but slight fever in the swelling area. Reaction to the tick saliva?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

You are right..it may be a hypersensitive reaction to a tick bite. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would recommend you to take a course of antibiotic, oral steroid in tapering dose and antihistaminics. Apply mild steroid cream on the affected areas. Take precautions to keep away yourself from a tick.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
