Hi , my name is Keith. I've been suffering from sleep paralysis since I was in my teens. It had stopped for a few years , but have had two mild episodes lately. Do you know how I can get this to stop , as it is scary , with the hallucinations etc. Many thanks.
I need to know one more thing about your clinical condition. Do you have excessive sleepiness during day hours which happen all of sudden lasting less than one hour and which is refreshing.
If your answer to my question is yes than you need to be evaluated for narcolepsy a kind of sleep disorder which is accompanied by hallucinations and sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis in isolation generally can be treated with medication from benzo group or some time TCA's. Unfortunately there is no other method of stopping it other than medication.
I suggest you to repost a query to me with following details like Your age Gender Frequency of episodes Total duration of problem Classical description of episodes Kind of hallucinations Any family history of similar disorder Problem you encounter because of this.
'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help". Thanks
