2-3 months ago i had a severe throat ache, i went to the clinic and the doctor assumed i had strep throat since i have it at least once a year so she prescribed penecilin in which i took 2 pills 3 times a day. When i finished the penecillin my throat was still hurting me so i went back. only for her to tell me i did not have strep that the strep test she took came out negative. She then prescribed two nasal sprays which havent worked whatsoever. I have sores and bumps on my tonsils and they seem pretty swollen. It does not hurt constantly but there are days it does. i also wake up to my throat being extremely dry. should i be worried ?
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
The symptoms seem to be related to a cold or flu. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. Fluids may help thin secretions and soothe an irritated throat. Hot fluids, such as tea or soup, may help reduce throat irritation. Gargle with warm salt water to help reduce swelling and relieve discomfort. Gargle at least once each hour with 1 tsp (5 g) salt in 8 fl oz (237 mL) of warm water.
