Suggest Treatment For Sour Taste In Mouth

About 4 or 5 weeks ago I started having a sour taste in my mouth. It was constant but I would get relief for a while by using mouthwash. Last week I started having thin layers of skin peel from the roof of my mouth around my gums. The sour taste seems to have increased and the only relief I get from it is when I eat.

Hi...
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain the symptoms of sour taste in mouth and peeling skin on roof of mouth seems to be due to GASTRO-ESOPHAGEAL REFLUX DISEASE commonly known as Acid reflux on which there is reflux of acid from stomach to throat and mouth and acid injury caused peeling of mucosa and inflammation in mouth..
Getting relief on eating is due to consumption of acid to digest the food and the os not much acid left to reflux..
I would suggest you to consult aa Gastroenterologist and get evaluated andan endoscopy can help in confirmation of cause..
For acid reflux he can advise you to take Proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole or Rabeprazole, antacid like Milk of Magnesia, dietary modifications like taking small frequent meals every 2 hours, drink plenty of water, avoid spicy and acidic foods, loose weight, sleep with head slightly elevated as compared to legs and recline in left later position..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
