Suggest Treatment For Swelling In My Knee

Basically I was hurt in a lacrosse injury. I got an x-ray on thursday and I have no broken bones, but my knee is too swollen to get any further diagnosis. They think it's a sprain or tore ligament. I have been wearing a knee stabilizer and using crutches since then. I have almost no feeling in the back of my cafe and lower heel, but I can feel on the front of my leg perfectly fine. I took the stabilizer off to make sure it wasn't cutting blood flow, and it still hasn't gotten any better. I have to get an MRI in a week or so but should I go earlier to check out this numbness?
