My aunt fell and the pain under her breast started to hurt the next day. She sweats a lot and the pain worsen. The doctor said that her lung s swollen and bruised. then gave her pain relief pills. Is there any other way to help her heal completely at home?
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. Your aunt is having blunt chest trauma due to fall. And following are the complications of it. 1. Rib fractures 2. Pulmonary contusions. 3. Pneumothorax 4. Muscular injury. Since her pain is worsening , get done chest x ray to rule out all these. If chest x ray is normal than it is muscular pain only. Try to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in muscular pain. 1. Avoid heavy weight lifting and strenuous exercise. 2. Avoid bad postures in sleep. 3. Take good painkiller and muscle relaxant. 4. Apply warm water pad on affected site. 5. Wear chest belt to avoid mobilisation of affected area.
