Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Bacterial Vaginosis
My fiance has had prolonged symptoms resembling BV, but the typical medications have not worked. She has received several conflicting opinions as to what might be the cause and how best to treat the problem. She has had ovarian cyst and a UTI prior to experiencing these prolonged symptoms. Any idea what might be the problem?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. It is better to do a swab test to rule out bacterial vaginosis. PH also should be tested. If it is still bacterial vaginosis then using combinations antibiotics like Clindamycin and Clotrimazole as vaginal suppository will be helpful. Using intimate wash daily is also recommended. But If this is negative then hormonal imbalance should be ruled out by doing hormonal tests. If there is any imbalance taking hormonal medications or oral contraceptive pills might be helpful to clear it. A consultation with Gynecologist is well appreciated.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
