I hope you can answer this question and provide me some relief. Why do I have severe itching under the skin of my feet? I have tried many creams for itching; but to NO avail!. It can go from mild to extreme where I must pull off my socks and frantically itch the bottom of my feet. Again, it is NOT on top of the skin but under it. HELP me, please! I am a very healthy, active person; but this has been going on sporadically for 4 months . Nancy Hoover YYYY@YYYY (I'm a high school AP English teacher 925-999-8654
The itching of the feet (without being able to see anything on the skin itself) could indicate a disturbance in the peripheral nerves. This can happen with diabetes, Vitamin B deficiency and other illnesses.
I would consult with a neurologist to do a test to see if there is normal sensation to heat, cold, pain and vibration. This could help indicate the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
