Suggest Treatment To Drain Air Beside Chest Tube

Hi Doctors,

I am Mandla from Bethal. I started coughing since the begining of July (until now) and consulted a doctor who gave me some anti biotics and medicines. the coughing worsened and later, I was sent for the chest X- ray which shown that there is air circulating outside my lungs (pnemouthorax). Is there any medication I can use that can help draining the air beside the "chest tube?"

If the size of your pneumothorax is less than 20% and you are not having any pulmonary disease with no symptoms you can take complete bed rest and start oxygen therapy as oxygen helps in resorption of air in the chest cavity. But if you are symptomatic, more than 20% size and having underlying COPD or astma or tb or pneumonia you should definately go forICD (Inter Costal Drainage).
