Suggest Treatments For Swelling And Tenderness In Nipple

I used to have a nipple piercing. Since removing it over 10 year ago pus will accumulate and when it does I pop it. However this time when I did the pus felt like it squished internally. Now my nipple and areola area are swollen and very tender. What should I do?

Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM.
I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern.
There might be a local abscess.
It is advisable to get a surgeon's opinion.
As examination would tell that this requires Incision and drainage or antibiotics can treat this.
This is my best opinion for you based on available details. If you any have further query, please ask me.
