Swelling Above The Ankle After A Fall. Have Stabbing Pain. What Is Happening?

I fell from the stair about 6 months ago. Hurt my ankle but I can walk just fine. There was a swelling above the ankle but now it's all completely gone but when I touch the spot, the skin feels just fine while the hand's touch to the skin feels thick. I used to felt stabbing pain all of a sudden after I stand too long. The pain felt like bug's bite. What happened??

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The stabbing pain in the area of fall is likely to be due to a bone injury in the area. This needs a direct examination and an X-ray to confirm the diagnosis. Till then avoid weight bearing on the foot.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
