Swelling Gone From Fractured Fibula But Having Tenderness While Walking With Aircast Boots

I have a fractured fibula. It's been that way for 3 months. I wore an orthopaedic "Aircast" boot for 5 weeks and have been walking on it. The swelling is almost gone, but the xray shows no change. I am frustrated with the waiting time to see an ortho dr. In the meantime, I am now walking without the boot and feel tenderness. I have managed to get an appointment for next week. But , am worried about making more damage. Should I be going to emergency ??

Usually, fracture fibula unites by 8-10 week time and non union is not that common. I need to see your x ray picture to make any further opinion.
