Swollen Ankle, Joint Of Foot And Leg Post Fall. No Antibiotics Prescribed, Elevation Of Leg Suggested. Treatment?
i slipped and fell inside a boat on a holiday trip at a place called while the injury has healed, the swelling on the ankle, joint of foot and leg, is still swollen though the incident happened more than 5 months back. The local doctor said that slowly it would become alright without any medicines and advised to keep my foot up while sitting please advise
I would suggest that you should get an X-Ray of your foot done and you should get yourself examined clinically by an Orthopedician.
You can take anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen one tablet twice a day after meals along with an antacid and serratiopeptidase preparation for decreasing the swelling.
Hot fomentation with saline water will also help in decreasing the swelling.
Treatment can be planned more accurately after seeing the X-Ray and after clinical examination.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
