Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have 5 swollen glands on my neck right where it meets your chin. Both of the glands behind my ears are swollen, and one is swollen in the hinge of my left jaw. A little over a year ago I went to my doctor and she noticed that I had something that she later diagnosed as pitikia and ran blood work due to a history of AL Leukemia in my family. I am currently on Doxycycline for acne but have been on it for nearly a month. I am extremely worried. Any insight?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Jagdish's Response
Welcome to Health Care Magic:
I have to know whether you have fever, weightless, night sweats these indicate chronic infections, lymphoma, and TB.
You need to be examined by the physician because the consistency and size of the swellings gives clues for the reason.Because you are on Doxycyclin for 5 months, it should shrink the swellings if it infectious. If they do not respond to antibiotics and increasing in size, if they firm, the lymph-node has to be biopsied by the surgeon. The biopsy should be sent to pathology to know what the cause is. Also get CBC, Monospot test, HIV, PPD (skin test).
**In growing children 2-3 cm lymph nodes (swellings) under shin and in groin is normal )**

Jagdish
