Swollen Gum On Jaw Bone, Pain On Pressing, Jaw Tightness, Numbness. Cure?
I have a swollen gum on the lower left jaw bone. It only seems to be around the one tooth but there is no pain. The only time that there may be pain is when I push on it. (Not done very much) It has been there for a couple of days now. My jaw is tight to move on the one side. When I move it, it kind of feels as if it is frozen/numb from dental work. (Best way I can describe it)
HELLo,
how often do you visit your dentist and get the check-up?swollen gums around the tooth may be due to gingivitis or periodontitis.
this may be due to accumulation of plaque/calculus around the tooth due to poor oral hygiene maintenance.get the deep scaling and root planning done.get an x-ray of the tooth to see the bone loss/periodontal pocket/periodontal abscess if present.in case of abscess, drainage and curettage has to be done.
also check for any proximal/incipient dental caries.if present, get it restored.
always brush your teeth twice daily and after every meals clean your mouth.
use soft interdental brush to clean your teeth.use dental floss and chlorhexidine mouthwash to prevent plaque accumulation.
use gum astringent to tone your gums.

your history reveals that either you are suffering from acute localised gingivitis or periodontal swelling....the best thing you can do is to consult your dentist ASAP..your doctor may take a radiograph for final diagnosis prior to treatment....don't worry it will be cured soon.meanwhile you may try the following....1.apply metronidazole+chlorhexidine ointment such as metrohex etc.thrice daily after taking food 2.use betadine and mild hot water(1:1)mouth rinse 3 to 4 times daily.....wish you good health.thank you.
