Hi,
Thanks for writing,
After reviewing your history i found out that your chief complaint is pain in the gums which have now swollen and prone to bleeding.
Gums can be affected in a number of conditions like
1) prolonged exposure to dental plaque(deposits due to bad
oral hygiene) causes chronic inflamatory enlargement.
2) Bacteria carried deep into the tissue when toothbrush bristel, apple core, or any other small sharp degraded food like popcorn kernel is forcefully embedded into the
gingiva (gums).
3) It can be enlarged with the use of medicines which control seizures, lower your immune system(immuno-suppressants), or used in heart related problems(calcium channel blockers).
4) gingiva(gums) is also enlarged in other conditions like
pregnancy,
puberty,
vitamin c deficiency and other diseases of body.
Make sure to visit a
dentist soon, and have a professional cleaning(scaling) done. It will relieve you with the symptoms. You might have been affected by the first two points above.
For now, u can use a mouthwash or swish your mouth with luke warm water with some salt added. Taking pain killers will only give you symptomatic relief and does not cure your problem. Discontinue flossing on that side till your scaling is done.
Brush your teeth gently and it is important that you use a soft bristle tooth brush.
Stay healthy,
Thank You.
