Swollen Spot And Bruise On The Shin After An Injury. Any Stress Fracture?
Slammed my shin into a board very tender excrutiatingly tender actually at the site about a quarter sized spot swollen and the blood bruising has drained down to my foot on either side of the foot. small bruise at the impact site. No difficulty with walking or on the bone any where around the site. Did I do a stress fracture to the site or just crushed the bone. How long do you think it shoud take to recover and for the swelling to go down
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain in the shin and the swelling is likely to be due to a soft tissue swelling. If the pain on walking and weight bearing is excruciating then bone bruise is likely. You need to avoid weight bearing and use an elastic brace for relief.
