Swollen Spot On Back Of Wrist. Remedy?

My wrist has a small swollen spot on the back of it. It isn't itchy nor painful. It also appears perfectly normal to the point that you can mostly only tell it's there by feeling for it. I've seen the pictures of people with wrist ganglion cysts, but they are a lot more prominent and bulbous. My bump is more like a gentle hill in appearance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, it appears to be the ganglion only, in the begining it will be shown like this only, and may remain so for ever. in some people it may grow to some extent and stop there . lastly, it may grow very big, or pain full, then it is to be operated and removed. the second type also can be removed for cosmetic purpose. thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Most propably, its a ganglion cyst of the wrist joint. Most often it is symptomless and needs no treatment. Ocassionally, they may also resolve spontaneously over a period of time.

If the cyst is large, painful and is causing obstruction to the wrist movements, then it is surgically removed.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
