Swollen Throat, Pus In Tonsils. Diagnosed With Mono Infection. No Responding To Choleraseptic Spray And Tylenol. Solution?
I was diagnosed with mono yesterday (after my preliminary strep test came back negative 3 days prior). I have an extremely swollen throat and there is so much pus on my tonsils that it s hard to even see them. I ve tried chloraseptic spray, Tylenol , salt water and throat drops to help with the pain, but nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions? I have another doc. appointment tomorrow.
Hi welcome to Health care magic forum. When ever there is pus it indicates that there is bacterial infection, strepto coccus may not be there but bome bacteria is definitely there causing the infection.
I advise you to consult an E.N.T.surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. You may needto have a culture and sensitivitty test of throat swab for confermation of the disease.
According to the test report most sensitive antibiotic should be used to get an optimal cure of infection in short time. with out antibiotic (systemic) you cant have relief .
Wishing for a quick recovery and thanks for calling.
