Symptoms In Arms And Hand Have Improved After Prescribing Prednisone For GCA. When Will It Be Fully Functional?

Hi, my name is Karina. I was recently diagnosed with GCA. Symptoms are only in my arms and hands. Have been on 60mg Prednisone for the past month. Symptoms have improved slightly, but still have no full usage of my especially lower arms and hands. How long can this take to be fully functional again.

hi, GCA is a disease of blood vessels what is known to be vasculitis. Most of the vasculitis syndromes will remain for life-long and are poorly responsive to treatment. luckily, GCA is one exemption which will be responsive to treatment. unfortunately, the duration or prognosis can not be precisely guessed and hence it should be monitored indefinitely. hope this helped.
