Taking Prednisone For Allergy To Poison Sumac. Had Migraine And Eye Pressure. Have Painful Lump On Wrist. Side Effect?
I am taking prednisone for a severe allergic reaction to poison sumac. I was experiencing migraines and pressure behind my eyes so I decided to let the reaction clear on its own. Now I have A suspicious lump on my wrist and it is so painful I cannot even write with a pen. Is this a side effect to the steroids and will it go away?
hi thanks for your question as per your mentioned problems there are two different entities. 1) migrane and pressure behind eyes - this looks like side effect of steroids. it will come down once its stopped. but first get your eye tested for intra ocular tension to rule out " glaucoma". if the pressure is normal then no need to worry. but if it is raised then consult ophthalmologist.
2) lump in your wrist is not a side effect of steroids. it liiks like what is called as "ganglion". get FNAC of the swelling it will comfirm the diagnosis. depending on the report of FNAC treatment can be planned. but there is nothing to be worried about it. get the reports then further plan can be done wish you good health
