Taking Wellbutrin. Had Hives. Sore And Swollen Throat After Taking Benadryl. What To Take?

I ve been taking the generic for wellbutrin for three weeks. Two days ago I broke out in hives . I did not take the wellbutrin yesterday or today and the hives have gotten better (almost gone). I started taking Benadryl right away. However, my throat is is sore and feels swollen, feels like my glands are swollen as well. My neck feels sore and heavy, it hurts to hold my head up. What should I take to help with this. Is it okay to just stop the wellbutrin after three weeks?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Thanks for consulting H.C.M.

Your clinical history favors for acute upper respiratory tract infection with cervical lymphadenitis.Benadryl alone will not help you. For getting proper treatment you should proceed for these investigations-

1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

2- X-Ray chest.

3- X-Ray Paranasal sinuses.

4- Blood - CBC, ESR, blood sugar ( F & PP ).

5- FNAC from neck glands.

By the help of above investigations we may reach to correct diagnosis that may be plan for treatment.

Regards.
