Taking Nyquil When Having BV Is Safe?

I am prescribed to 500 MG of Flagyl, twice a day for BV. I have avoided alcohol, however, I took a tsp of Nyquil earlier. Am I ok? I take melatonin nightly, is this ok? Lastly, if I do react to something and get sick, is it safe to take phenerghan? Thanks!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Flagyl does not interact with Nyquil so you should be fine. As for the rest of the medications, they are safe to be taken with Flagyl as well.

It is good you are avoiding taking alcohol during this time as a severe reaction may happen when alcohol is used while on treatment with Flagyl.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
