Teen Diagnosed With Migraine, Headaches, Prescribed Imetrix. Will Going On Birth Control Be Beneficial?
My daughter is 16. She has been diagnosed with migraine headaches. These headaches have become more and more frequent such as 4 last week and one again this week. She has been prescribed Imetrix which she takes a double dose and if that doesn t ease the pain she can double does again in 1 hour. Along with this she takes Motrin / Advil under the direction of her doctor . My question is: if this is hormonal would going on birth control be of benefit?
Hi, The head ache in this age group may be migraine, refractive error of the eye, sinusitis, anxiety of the education etc. I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis, and also an ophthalmic surgeon, for diagnosis and correction . I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe alprazolam.25 od,at night. besides other prescription medication. Thank you.
