Hello
welcome in H.C.M
I have gone through your query regarding
recurrent tonsillitis giving you severe throat pain and your doctor had advice you for surgery, but you not prepare for surgery.
here after analysing all facts of your medical history I would like suggest you for surgery because diseased tonsils are the site for harburing strep. No doubt at present you are not having strep but these non functional tonsils may become problemetic at any time, so surgery is the correct treatment for you. There are different methods of operation like conventional surgery,
laser surgery , coblation surgery. This is a very comfortable & minor surgery.
If even you do not agree for operation, you may do-
1- Culture & sensitivity of throat swab and according to this report use antibiotic in full theraputic dose and duration or till your throat swab becomes sterile in three consequtive cultures.
2- Make a habbit of doing warm saline gargling daily.
3- Avoid spicy food and chillies.
4- Please remain in touch of doctor and care for complication if any appears.
I hope your query is answered.
Regards.
