Tingling In Hands And Feet, Sensation Of Heat In Hand. MRI Done. Suggestions?

Good evening. I have had intermittent symptoms of tingling into hands and feet. On 1 occasion i also felt tingling in the roof if the mouth. I have felt like i am off or almost as if my vision has a surreal sensation. I went to a neurologist got a consult and he sent me to get a brain and cervical spine MRI, with and w/o contrast. Mri showed no evidence of demylenating dz. Mri did show several bulging discs from c2 to c6. Mild cervical stenosis, except for moderate stenosis in c4-c5. Results have been available for over 2 weeks now but neurologist's office hasn't bothered to call for follow up appointment. I forgot to mention that i also have felt a sensation of heat in hand and also calf muscle region. I have also felt what i would describe as a pre syncopal feeling.Would these symptoms be consistent with the radiological report and findings? Should i also find another neurologist seeing that they have not even called after receiving results so long ago?

Hello,

Thank you for writing to us,

Your MRI report of cervical spine is showing moderate stenosis at C4- C5 and rest areas mild disc bulges. These changes do not cause the symptoms that you describe.

Stenosis at C4- C5 level of cervical spine will cause compressing of a nerve C5 which does not supply hand area at all. Other small disc bulges also do not cause such symptoms.

I suggest you get your Blood - Vitamin B12 levels checked which can cause generalised tingling in the body like you have.

I dont feel you should change any neurologist, probably ask for a repeat consult yourself.

I hope this helps you in some way!

Take care
