Took Antibiotic For A Cat Bite. Having Swelling. Should I Visit ER?
have a cat bite on my hand that became infected over the first night after it happened. i went to the ER and got antibiotics, and some pain meds. The pain is no longer as bad as it was before the hospital, and I took an antibiotic today (first one), but there is more swelling and now red streaks on my arm. Should I wait a day for the oral antibiotics to kick in or should i revisit the hospital immediately?
HI Thank for asking to HCM The more concern, in your case is zoonotic infection, ( Infection transmitted from the animal ) among them Rabies is most dangerous, so to rule out the possibility of this you should better consult the department which treat such cases, meanwhile keep the wound area clean uncover, continue antibiotic, have nice day.
