Took Injections For Malaria Fever. Severe Pain In Ankles, Unable To Stand, Walk, Swelling In Feet. Reason?
Hi,
my wife 24 yrs old had a malaria fever 15 days back.she underwent some injections daily for 5 days, after a week the blood test showed malaria was negative. But last 5 days she had heavy pain in the ankles not able to stand and walk(first 5,6 steps were very paining and the later steps slowly walking). There is a little sweeling on the foot.
hello dear there are many medications given in malaria, side effects of each one vary with drug. from given information it would be difficult comment on what was the drug and its side effcts. coming to clinical symptoms malaria test was negative, on clinical condition malaria diagnosed was made and treated . here i would consider other infections that might have caused simialr clinical presentation like viral fevers. i would consider chicken gunya as one probability because it will have fever and very severe joint pains limiting moments. consult your doctor with reports for further investigation and management. regards
