Trauma In Arms And Legs With Numbness, Pain, Discoloration, Advised MRI And NGO Test. What Is An NGO Test?
Hello sir/mam. My mother in law recently started having major issues in her right arm and leg. She was feeling numbness , pain, discoloration but no itching or irritation. She has consulted a cardiologist who has advised them to go for two MRI full body scans and an NGO test. I just want to confirm if these tests are fine to be done . Also i want to know what is an NGO test. My mother in law is around 47 years age, weight 60 kgs and height 5 foot . My email id is YYYY@YYYY . Please advise.
From the sketchy information provided, there are two possibilities of your mother-in-law's problem :- (a) a lesion in the brain; or, cervical spine (neck region) where there may be a collapsed vertebra, disc herniation or a growth.
Hence, MRIs of Brain and Cervical region need to be done to pinpoint the cause.
Perhaps, your doctor was referring to Angio(graphy) test(which you probably mistook as NGO). In angiography test, a radio-opaque dye is injected in one of the main blood vessel supplying blood to the brain- to see if there is any clot/blockage in the brain vessels.
I will be able to help you if the reports of MRI and Angiography are addressed to me personally by name on this website.
