I am a 73 year old male, being treated for elevated blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and hypertension. During my last visit with my physician my medications were changed and in the last 5 days I have felt a very hot flushed feeling in the upper part of my body, more tired than usual, pain in my back, muscle cramps in my calves. My blood pressure has been much better 124/72 in the morning, 142/77 around noon and 109/64 at 3 p.m. Looking up the side effects of my recently changed medication I am wondering of the flushed feeling is due to a side effect. Meds were changed from Lipitor 10 mg. to 20 (bedtime), Lisinopril from 20 to 40 mg., I am on Atenolol 50 mg., Metformin HCL 500 mg., CoQ10 200 mg., and Fish Oil Capsules. I was given Chlorthalidone 25 mg. during my last visit. Would the changes or the new medication cause this feeling?
