Treated For Varicose Vein. What Could Be The Underlying Cause For Swelling In Leg?

I have been treated for varicose vein's, I've had a procedure to shut down a main blood vein in my left leg. An it was re routed to a different blood vein. Anyway I wear support hose as ordered by the dr, I do everything the dr has ordered me to. I still have swelling in my leg's and feet. My question is could there be and underlying illness are malfunction of vital organ that is causing the swelling in my leg's. Some day's my leg's are swollen so bad it hurt's to walk.

Hi, thanks for your query at HCM
I understand your problem with swollen legs.. There could be perforator incompetnce due to which the swelling has reappeared which can be be found out by getting venous doppler. There could also be other medical reasons for which the swelling has appeared for which you need to get certain investigations for which its better to contact a physician...
hope this answers your question
