Tubes Repaired And Removed Due To Ectopic Pregnancies. What Are The Chances Of Carrying A Baby?
I've had two ectopic pregnancies. The first was in my left tube and it ruptured. The Dr was able to repair the tube. Then with the 2nd ectopic the Dr had to remove my right tube..... what are my. Chances of ever carrying a child to fuel term again?
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. With one tube removed, and the other damaged , chances of pregnancy are not optimum. However, your chances of carrying a child to fullterm are not affected, as your uterus is intact. What is affected, is your ability to conceive, You should have a laparoscopy at the earliest to know if the remaining tube is patent / functional. If the tubal status is defective, then you would need to have IVF ( in vitro fertilization ) to conceive. Certain tubal damages can be rectified on laparoscopy also. Take care.
