Ultrasound Gestational Sac Implanted In The Fundal Portion Of The Uterus, Yolk Sac Seen, Subchorionic Hematoma. Meaning?

Hi. I had my ultrasound-tvs this morning and the following statement was indicated on the report. I'd like to know what it means as I haven't seen my OB/GYN yet.

"There is a well formed gestational sac implanted in the fundal portion of the uterus measuring 12.5 x 7.5 x 10.7 mm compatible with 4 weeks 2 days gestational age. No definite embryonic echo or yolk sac is seen. Subchorionic hematoma is not appreciated".

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
You didn't mention when was your last menstrual period, so I cannot tell whether your gestation age according to the ultrasound is corresponding or not.
As per the scan report you are having inter uterine pregnancy.
And the gestational sac is well formed.
Usually in around 4 weeks of gestation fetal pole may not be noted.
So you can go for followup scan after two weeks. And possibly by that time you can see the fetal pole along with cardiac activity.
For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429
Take care.
